Wednesday marked the hottest day of the year so far, with a recorded temperature of 39.2 degrees Celsius. Despite the rising temperatures, the IMD has stated that heatwave conditions are unlikely, as these typically occur from April to early June. The department has also warned that elevated temperatures could pose moderate health risks, particularly for vulnerable groups such as infants, children, and the elderly. To mitigate health risks, the IMD recommends that residents avoid direct sun exposure, wear lightweight clothing, and stay hydrated. The forecast indicates a partly cloudy sky with maximum temperatures expected to settle at 40 degrees Celsius on Thursday and remain elevated through the weekend.
