On May 3, 2023, singer Mika Singh met with Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria in Chandigarh to discuss the pressing issue of drug abuse in the state. The governor urged Singh to lend his support to the anti-drug campaign, to which the singer responded positively, promising to organize a free mega show in Chandigarh. All funds raised from this event will be directed towards enhancing the anti-drug initiative. In addition to addressing drug abuse, the meeting also focused on promoting Punjabi language, culture, and heritage on a global scale. Both Singh and Kataria highlighted the importance of showcasing Punjab’s rich traditions and discussed strategies to boost tourism in the region. Mika suggested establishing a world-class film city in Punjab, which he believes would attract filmmakers and tourists, thereby generating significant revenue and enhancing the state's cultural visibility.
