Burger King, which previously struggled in Israel, is making a comeback under the Delek Group, which took over as the franchisee in early 2022. CEO Dana Tuchner has ambitious plans to expand the chain to over 100 branches in the next decade, focusing on strategic locations near Delek's fuel stations and new commercial centers. Currently, Burger King operates 18 branches across Israel, with plans to open at least six new locations by 2026, each costing about NIS 2 million (approximately $570,000 USD). The fast-food market is competitive, especially with McDonald's leading with over 200 branches. Tuchner emphasizes the importance of adapting marketing strategies to appeal to the younger Generation Z, highlighting the emotional connection people have with food. The chain will also introduce products aimed at children, including collaborations with popular brands. Despite the challenges, Tuchner believes that with Delek's resources and a clear vision, Burger King can thrive in Israel's fast-food landscape.
