Maris Nichols, a 25-year-old science teacher at Alexander High School in Douglasville, Georgia, has been re-arrested on 11 additional charges related to sexual abuse involving five teenagers. Previously charged for allegedly having sex with a student in a school cupboard, Nichols now faces accusations of child molestation and grooming. Reports indicate that she engaged in sexual activity in a parked Hummer and at a golf course car park. The new allegations involve at least four students from the school, where Nichols has worked since May 2023. Furthermore, she is accused of sending explicit messages and photos to students, including one instance where she encouraged a girl to watch the 'Fifty Shades of Grey' film series. Just days before her initial arrest, Nichols allegedly instructed one of her victims to erase their communications. The Douglas County School System has stated that student safety is their highest priority and has launched an investigation into the allegations, emphasizing that the behavior described is unacceptable and violates professional standards.
