Palak Rajak, a 21-year-old newlywed from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, died on May 12, 2025, in what her family alleges was a case of dowry harassment leading to her suicide. Married just a month prior, Palak reportedly faced continuous demands for a vehicle from her in-laws, which caused her significant distress. Her father, Mohar Singh, stated that despite his attempts to intervene, the harassment persisted, leading to physical abuse and taunts directed at his daughter. Following her death, police are conducting a preliminary investigation and plan to register a case against her in-laws based on the medical report and evidence collected.
