Meta has launched Muse Spark, a new AI model from its Superintelligence team, aimed at enhancing consumer interaction with AI. This model features two initial reasoning modes: 'Instant' for quick responses and 'Thinking' for more thoughtful replies. Future updates will introduce a 'Contemplating' mode, allowing for deeper reasoning. Muse Spark can also manage multiple AI subagents to assist with tasks such as family trip planning, where one agent may create an itinerary while another finds suitable activities. Additionally, the model is natively multimodal, enabling users to process images, videos, and audio, similar to Google Lens. It also includes a shopping assistant that compares products and provides purchasing links. Currently available in the Meta AI app and on the meta.ai website, Meta plans to roll out Muse Spark to more countries and platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. There are hopes for future open-source versions of the model, although Meta's commitment to this remains uncertain.
