In March 2023, equity mutual fund inflows jumped 56% month-on-month to reach ₹40,450 crore (approximately $4.9 billion USD), compared to ₹25,977 crore in February. Year-on-year, inflows increased by 61% from ₹25,082 crore. Among various sub-categories, flexicap funds led the inflow charts with ₹10,054 crore, marking the second consecutive month with inflows exceeding ₹10,000 crore. Smallcap and midcap funds followed closely, receiving inflows of ₹6,263 crore and ₹6,063 crore, respectively. In contrast, value/contra funds recorded the lowest positive inflows at ₹2,155 crore. Additionally, equity-linked savings schemes (ELSS) and dividend funds faced outflows of ₹437 crore and ₹59.21 crore, respectively. Notably, value/contra and focused funds experienced significant month-on-month inflow surges of 196% and 169%.
