Abdul Sattar Suleman Mithaiwala, affectionately known as Sattar Bhai, passed away at the age of 79 in Mumbai. He was the owner of Suleman Usman Bakery, a beloved sweet shop on Mohammed Ali Road, which has been a local favorite since its establishment in 1936. The bakery is not only famous for its sweets but is also remembered for its tragic association with the 1993 post-Babri Masjid demolition riots, during which a police raid resulted in the deaths of eight unarmed Muslims. Sattar Bhai was a significant witness in the ongoing trial related to this incident, having testified despite being declared hostile due to memory issues. He had previously expressed his frustration over the lack of justice for his employees, questioning how one could expect fair treatment when the law enforcement officers were the accused.
