In fiscal year 2026, India's toll revenue surged to a record ₹82,900.16 crore, marking a 14% increase from ₹72,930.83 crore in FY25. This growth is driven by the addition of new toll roads, heightened economic activity, and the rollout of the annual FASTag facility, which saw a 5.7% rise in transaction volume to nearly 4.45 billion. Notably, toll collections from commercial vehicles rose to ₹7,193 crore in March 2026, up from ₹6,924.57 crore in February, despite challenges posed by the Iran war. Since FY19, when electronic toll data began being recorded, annual toll collections have more than tripled, increasing from ₹25,164.50 crore. The length of tolled roads in India has also more than doubled, reaching 55,812 km as of November 2025. Officials expect toll collections to continue rising as India adopts more advanced toll collection technologies and phases out physical toll plazas, enhancing logistics and travel efficiency.
