The Gujarat government has initiated the online application process for the Right to Education (RTE) admissions for the academic year 2026, starting from April 4 and closing on April 17, 2026. This year, more than 84,000 seats are available in private schools, a decrease from 94,000 last year. The allocation includes 41,000 seats in Gujarati medium, 40,262 in English medium, and 2,235 in Hindi medium. Notably, parents can now select their preferred school and the timing of classes, a new feature compared to previous years. The revised admission priorities will favor children from reserved categories over those from anganwadi centers. Parents must ensure they submit all necessary documents, including proof of residence and income certificates, to avoid application rejection. A print copy of the filled application should also be retained for reference.
