The collapse of a four-storey lodge in Anuppur district, Madhya Pradesh, India, has resulted in three confirmed deaths and left several individuals feared trapped under the debris. The incident occurred on Saturday evening at approximately 5:30 PM, near the busy Kotma bus stand, where eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud explosion-like sound just before the building fell. Preliminary investigations suggest that excavation work for a nearby house may have triggered the collapse. Rescue operations, led by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and supported by around 100 police personnel, are ongoing, with teams working through the night to locate the missing. Among the deceased are Hanuman Deen Yadav (55) and Ramkripal Yadav (50). Madhya Pradesh officials, including Minister Dilip Jaiswal, have assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted and that those responsible will face consequences. The immediate focus remains on rescuing those trapped and providing medical assistance to the injured.
