Indian pharmaceutical exports reached nearly $29 billion by the end of February 2026, reflecting a 5% increase from the same period last year. K Raja Bhanu, Director General of the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (PHARMEXCIL), highlighted that the sector, currently valued at around $60 billion, is expected to grow to $130 billion by 2030. The growth momentum has been maintained despite global challenges, with exports during the April-February period of FY26 totaling $28.29 billion, a 5.6% increase from FY25. The rise in exports is primarily attributed to formulations, biologicals, vaccines, and Ayush products. In FY 2024-25, exports reached $30.47 billion, marking a 9.4% year-on-year growth despite facing global pricing pressures and trade volatilities.
