Panic ensued in Chandigarh, India, on Monday morning when several educational institutions and government buildings, including the Punjab and Haryana secretariat and the mayor’s office, received bomb threats via email from a group claiming to be the Khalistan National Army. The emails, sent around 9:21 AM, named schools such as St Stephen’s School, Shivalik Public School, and Ryan International School, specifying potential blast times of 1:11 PM for schools, 2:11 PM for the mayor’s office, and 3:11 PM for the secretariat. A late-night grenade attack threat was also directed at Gandhi Bhawan at Panjab University. In response, authorities evacuated the schools and conducted thorough searches, confirming that no suspicious objects or explosives were found. A senior police official emphasized that all standard operating procedures were followed and that security measures were heightened across the city, particularly around schools and key government installations.
