With the original plan for a trip to Saudi Arabia canceled due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, manager Michael Carrick opted for this Irish location, which also promotes a pre-season game scheduled for August 12 against Leeds. During their stay, the team participated in three intensive training sessions and spent time in the gym, contributing to an upbeat atmosphere. The return of defender Lisandro Martinez from injury is particularly significant, especially with Harry Maguire suspended for the next match and Matthijs de Ligt dealing with a back issue, leaving the squad short on experienced defenders. The players also enjoyed recreational activities, including golf and clay pigeon shooting, and approximately 3,000 fans gathered to meet the team. A highlight of the trip was the competitive head tennis sessions, won by captain Bruno Fernandes and striker Matheus Cunha.
