The Amaravati Growth and Infrastructure Corporation Limited (AGICL) has announced a request for proposals (RFP) to select a firm for the design and construction of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee 'Smruthi Vanam' memorial in Venkatapalem village, Andhra Pradesh. The memorial will occupy approximately 2.5 acres and will feature a statue of Vajpayee, serving as a focal point for the complex. Bidders can submit proposals through the Andhra Pradesh e-procurement portal from March 17 to April 4, 2026. The memorial is envisioned as a significant public and cultural asset that honors the life and legacy of the former Prime Minister, focusing on creating a space for learning, reflection, and civic engagement, rather than merely a static monument. AGICL, established by the Andhra Pradesh government, is responsible for project development and infrastructure implementation in the Amaravati Capital Region. Phase 1 of the project will include landscape development, pathways, seating areas, and utilities, while Phase 2, not included in the current tender, will feature an exhibition-cum-museum, interpretation center, library, and conference hall.
