The Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) in Bengaluru has achieved a significant milestone by receiving ISO 15189:2022 accreditation for its Biochemistry and Haematology laboratories. This recognition, awarded by the International Organisation for Standardization, marks CARI as the first institute under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) to attain such a standard. This accreditation assures patients of accurate, reliable, and safe diagnostic results, aligning with global quality benchmarks. Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State for the Ministry of Ayush, emphasized that this achievement reflects the Ministry's commitment to transforming Ayurveda infrastructure into a model of quality. The lab demonstrated its growing capacity by conducting over 1.52 lakh investigations and serving more than 9,300 patients during the 2025-26 period. The implementation of advanced systems has improved turnaround times and accuracy, further enhancing patient experience. CARI Bengaluru had previously secured both NABH and NABL entry-level certifications, demonstrating its ongoing dedication to quality healthcare.
