Nida Khan, a Human Resources manager at a Nashik BPO unit associated with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), was arrested on April 10 following allegations of workplace harassment and misconduct. As an HR manager, her role included addressing employee grievances and ensuring compliance with the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) regulations. Investigators allege that Khan failed to act on multiple complaints from female employees, which had been reported over an extended period. Several complainants have filed First Information Reports (FIRs) at local police stations, claiming their concerns were ignored or suppressed, and some reported facing pressure to remain silent. The police are investigating whether Khan played a more active role in enabling the alleged misconduct by not escalating complaints to higher authorities, with reports dating back to 2022 being scrutinized. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is also examining systemic failures within the workplace that may have contributed to the situation. Investigators conducted searches in Pune, where Khan has personal ties, and continue to question her as they seek to uncover the full extent of the alleged wrongdoing.
