Ambedkar on his 135th birth anniversary. The BJP is set to launch a campaign emphasizing social justice and public awareness, with a significant event planned at the Ambedkar Mahasabha premises where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will pay tribute. The state government has announced the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Statue Development Scheme, allocating ₹403 crore (approximately $49 million USD) to beautify and secure the sites of Ambedkar's statues across all 403 assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, the SP and BSP are organizing events to reinforce their connections with the Dalit community, which plays a pivotal role in the upcoming elections. The Dalit vote, representing 21% of the electorate, is expected to be decisive in around 170 seats in the state, making these outreach efforts critical for electoral success in the 2027 assembly elections.
