Portal, a new bistro and bar in Kala Ghoda, Mumbai, opened recently with a vision to transform the breakfast experience. Founded by Punam H. Singh, who previously ran the Mustard restaurant, Portal occupies a 1,200 sq ft space and can seat 48 guests. The venue operates from noon to midnight and plans to serve breakfast starting at 8 am, catering to both shoppers and office-goers in the bustling art district. Singh's goal was to create a space where breakfast could be exciting, even offering champagne. The menu is described as 'borderless and cuisine-agnostic,' featuring dishes like miso pasta, a rice sandwich with tofu, and a roasted beetroot salad. The emphasis is on quality ingredients, with a selection that also includes meat options such as roast buff and lamb kimchi sandwiches. The bistro's ambiance is enhanced by tall ceilings and artistic murals, creating a unique dining experience. Since its launch, Portal has garnered positive feedback, with many guests returning for the innovative offerings and lively atmosphere.
