Goyal emphasized the importance of collaboration across key sectors, reflecting the historical ties between India and Kuwait, where India was a legal tender until 1961. As Kuwait faces missile and drone attacks following a ceasefire between the US and Iran, its Defence Ministry reported successful interceptions of 28 drones targeting vital installations. Kuwait remains a vital supplier of crude oil and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to India, fulfilling about 3.5% of India's total energy needs during FY 2024-25, making it the 6th largest crude supplier and 5th largest LPG supplier to India.
