In Patna, Bihar, the state education department has launched a month-long enrolment drive aimed at ensuring that every child aged 6 to 14 years is admitted to school for the 2026-27 academic session. The initiative focuses on achieving full enrolment through household visits, outreach at schools, and community participation. B Rajender, the additional chief secretary of the education department, has directed all 38 district magistrates to supervise the drive. Teachers will be assigned enrolment duties, working with anganwadi workers, school committee chairpersons, and local community leaders to visit households and identify children eligible for admission. For children currently enrolled in anganwadi centres, the process will facilitate their transition into local schools. The government plans to utilize social media platforms for awareness campaigns and has encouraged schools to assist parents with the necessary documentation for admission. At the end of the campaign, headmasters will confirm enrolment status to block education officers, ensuring that no child in the area remains unenrolled.
