The Tumakuru police in Karnataka have dismantled a counterfeit operation selling fake Ayurvedic weight-loss products, arresting Rajeev Khanna, a 56-year-old from Delhi. The investigation began after Dhanalakshmi, owner of 'Jeeni Slim Powder', reported trademark misuse on August 14, 2025. The police discovered that Khanna was selling products under the name 'RK Traders', which posed health risks to consumers, particularly teenagers. A raid on March 27 uncovered large quantities of fake products, including ordinary wheat flour marketed as 'Jeeni Slim Powder' and other Ayurvedic items, all manufactured without regulatory approvals. Khanna and his sons, Himanshu Khanna (29) and Manan Khanna (25), face serious charges, with the operation estimated to have caused losses exceeding ₹15 lakh (around $18,000 USD) to the Jeeni company. The police are investigating further links to other counterfeit operations that could amount to crores of rupees.
