The Punjab Police's Counter Intelligence Wing arrested two key suspects, Gurtej Singh and Amanpreet Singh, aboard a train near Rewari, Haryana, linked to the recent blast outside the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters in Chandigarh. This operation, conducted in collaboration with the Haryana Police's Special Task Force (STF), has raised the total number of arrests in this case to seven. The DGP of Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, revealed that the suspects were motivated by handlers based in Portugal and Germany, who promised them a monetary reward of ₹2 lakh (approximately $2,400 USD) for executing the attack. Both suspects had been on the run since the incident, which involved the use of a grenade and a firearm. The police are also investigating how the attack was orchestrated from abroad and are conducting intensive interrogations to uncover further details about the conspiracy. The court has remanded six of the accused to three days of police custody for further questioning.
