Bengaluru Police have successfully deported 272 illegal Bangladeshi immigrants as part of a coordinated crackdown on illegal immigration. This operation involved extensive verification across various localities in the city, identifying 178 men, 94 women, and 12 children. The deportees were sent back to Bangladesh through the Tripura border, with the Border Security Force (BSF) providing necessary support. The Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) played a crucial role in facilitating the legal procedures for deportation. The operation was a multi-agency effort, involving the Department of Health and Family Welfare, the Greater Bengaluru Authority, and the Department of Social Welfare. In addition to the deportations, two agents were arrested for their involvement in a trafficking network that helped illegal immigrants settle in Bengaluru. Investigators revealed a structured commission system where migrants paid agents for housing and job placements. Authorities anticipate further arrests as the investigation continues, aiming to dismantle the larger illegal immigration network operating in the area.
