During a joint campaign in Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K Palaniswami (AIADMK chief) criticized the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government for its confrontational approach towards the central government, stating that such actions prevent the state from receiving essential funds. He argued that while political parties may have differences, it is crucial for the elected government to prioritize serving the people after elections. Palaniswami pointed out that the DMK's criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its failure to maintain a harmonious relationship with the Centre have led to a lack of financial support for Tamil Nadu. He further accused the DMK of corruption, linking it to past scandals such as the 2G spectrum case, and claimed that the party's actions have denied the people the benefits they deserve. Additionally, he criticized the DMK for collaborating with Karnataka officials on projects that could negatively impact Tamil Nadu's agriculture. T T V Dhinakaran, the AMMK general secretary, echoed Palaniswami's sentiments, urging voters to reject the DMK in the upcoming elections.
