The Indian music industry is in mourning following the death of legendary singer Asha Bhosle, who passed away at the age of 92 due to a cardiac arrest. Prasoon Joshi, a prominent poet and chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), expressed his condolences and shared a poem he dedicated to her. Bhosle, a pivotal figure in India's Golden Age of music, recorded over 12,000 songs in more than 20 languages, collaborating with icons like Kishore Kumar and Mohammed Rafi. Joshi praised her unique ability to convey emotion through her music, stating, 'With Asha ji’s passing, we lose an iconic voice.' Bhosle's contributions to music earned her prestigious awards, including the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and Padma Vibhushan. Her timeless hits, such as 'Piya Tu Ab To Aaja' and 'Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko,' continue to resonate with fans worldwide. Her mortal remains will be kept at her residence for public homage before the last rites at Shivaji Park.
