Fakhar Zaman, a 35-year-old batter for the Lahore Qalandars, will face a two-match ban due to his involvement in a ball-tampering incident during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 match against Karachi Kings. The PSL Technical Committee reviewed the case and upheld the original punishment issued by Match Referee Roshan Mahanama, which was the maximum penalty for breaching article 41.3 of the PSL playing conditions, concerning altering the ball's condition for an unfair advantage. The incident raised concerns among on-field umpires, leading to a replacement of the ball after Zaman handled it. In addition to Zaman's ban, the Qalandars were penalized with five runs, impacting their chase in the match. Zaman will be unavailable for the upcoming matches against Multan Sultans on April 3 and Islamabad United on April 9.
