On April 2, in Dhanuha village of Chaka block, Prayagraj district, Uttar Pradesh, India, a 66-year-old farmer named Ram Lal confessed to murdering his neighbor, 70-year-old Hazari Lal, due to a love affair with his wife, Anarkali, aged 65. Ram Lal attacked Hazari Lal with an axe at a sand and gravel site, killing him instantly. Hazari Lal, a widower with five sons and two daughters, was discovered dead on his cot, soaked in blood. His eldest son, Sonu, reported the murder to the Naini police station the following day. The police launched an investigation, employing forensic teams and a dog squad, which led them to suspect Ram Lal after rumors of the affair surfaced. During interrogation, Ram Lal confessed, citing humiliation and marital strain as motives. He revealed that his wife had refused marital relations and had publicly displayed affection with Hazari Lal, which deeply affected him. The police later recovered the axe used in the murder from Ram Lal's home. He was subsequently presented in court and remanded to prison.
