Union Minister Piyush Goyal held a roadshow in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Thursday to support Vanathi Srinivasan, the BJP Mahila Morcha president and candidate for the Coimbatore North Assembly constituency. During the event in the Saibaba Colony area, Goyal praised the hardworking nature of Coimbatore's residents and criticized the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government for alleged corruption and stagnation in development over the past five years. He accused the DMK of running a family enterprise and claimed that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) does not endorse dynastic politics. Goyal expressed confidence that a new government would be formed under the AIADMK within the NDA alliance, promising governance similar to that of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. He further alleged that the DMK government was obstructing development projects and misusing central funds, particularly in relation to the Metro Rail project. Goyal urged voters to reject the DMK and support the NDA to restore effective governance and end corruption, emphasizing the importance of Coimbatore in the electoral process.
