Uttar Pradesh is positioning itself as India's 'Deep Tech Capital' as announced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Under the initiative 'Innovate in UP, Scale for the World', the state will focus on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and drone technology. During a high-level meeting, Adityanath emphasized the importance of concrete actions and collaboration between research institutions and industry to ensure innovations lead to job creation. A detailed presentation by Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, highlighted ongoing and proposed initiatives, including the development of medical technology solutions at the Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology. The Chief Minister also reviewed plans for a Centre of Excellence in green hydrogen, which is crucial for the state's energy future. Additionally, discussions included establishing India's first institutional center for clinical validation in Ayurveda and enhancing drone manufacturing capabilities. The proposed 'UP Deep-Tech Hub' in Noida is set to serve as a central platform for startups and research, with a focus on world-class infrastructure and innovation culture. Adityanath called for expedited progress in cyber security initiatives to strengthen the state's digital infrastructure.
