In response to ongoing protests by factory workers in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, the state government has established a high-level committee to address their demands, which include wage increases, guaranteed weekly days off, and improved working conditions. The committee, chaired by the industrial development commissioner, held its first meeting with worker representatives in Greater Noida. Workers are demanding monthly salaries between ₹18,000 and ₹20,000 due to rising living costs. District magistrate Medha Roopam emphasized the committee's commitment to resolving issues through dialogue. Meanwhile, police are investigating individuals who may have incited violence during the protests. The government has also implemented new labor welfare measures, including mandatory double overtime pay and timely wages for workers in Gautam Buddha Nagar district. As discussions continue, officials urge workers to maintain peace and return to their workplaces.
