The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has acknowledged the incident and is set to investigate the matter thoroughly. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia stated that they will review video footage and gather evidence to ascertain the facts before making a decision. According to the IPL's Players and Match Officials Area (PMOA) protocol, while team managers can use phones in the dressing room, they are strictly prohibited in the dugout. As Bhinder has been with the franchise since its inception, there are expectations that he should be well aware of these regulations. The investigation could lead to various outcomes, including a warning or a match ban, depending on the findings of the match referee and the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) report.
