Union minister of state Dr. Jitendra Singh announced significant developments for the Doda region in Jammu and Kashmir, including the establishment of a Doppler weather radar to enhance weather forecasting and disaster preparedness. During a district development meeting, he emphasized the need for accurate real-time weather monitoring due to the region's vulnerability to heavy rains and seismic activity. Dr. Singh confirmed that a new tender for the Sudh Mahadev Tunnel will be issued soon, following the cancellation of the previous tender due to security concerns. He also outlined plans for improving local infrastructure, including the construction of a link road from Kalota to Humbal and expedited work on the road to the Mata Dedani Shrine to promote religious tourism. Additionally, he announced a new permanent seismological observatory in Kishtwar to enhance earthquake monitoring and disaster preparedness. The installation of automated weather stations in Paddar and Machail is also set to begin soon, further supporting disaster management efforts in the region.
