He stated that the bill, which aims to enhance women's representation in Parliament and state assemblies, is set for implementation by 2029. Modi noted that the bill has been a long-awaited initiative, taking 40 years to come to fruition, and highlighted the unity among political parties on this issue. He pointed out that increased women's participation in decision-making leads to greater sensitivity and effectiveness in governance, citing the success of the Jal Jeevan Mission as an example. The Prime Minister also mentioned the increase in maternity leave to 26 weeks as part of broader efforts to support women. Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi praised the bill for reflecting women's voices and experiences, while Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed strong support for the initiative, emphasizing the collective backing of women across India.
