The Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMRC) at the University of Mysore has garnered significant accolades at the 27th CEC-UGC Educational Film Festival held in New Delhi. This year's festival was highly competitive, featuring 320 entries from across India, with only 19 documentaries and educational videos selected for awards. EMRC's Chandra Kumar PH was awarded the Best Film/Documentary Award for his film ‘The Divine Sculptor – Arun Yogiraj,’ which includes a cash prize of ₹50,000 (approximately $600 USD). This documentary highlights the life and achievements of renowned sculptor Arun Yogiraj, who is notably recognized for sculpting the idol of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya. Additionally, K Gopinath received the Best Editing Award of Citation for his documentary ‘Kalaripayattu–The Indian Martial Arts,’ which explores the history of this ancient Indian martial art form. The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mysore, NK Lokanath, congratulated the awardees for their exceptional contributions.
