Julian Edelman, former wide receiver for the New England Patriots, has identified a crucial area for improvement for quarterback Drake Maye as he enters his third NFL season. Despite an impressive second season where Maye was named MVP runner-up, Edelman pointed out that Maye needs to enhance his ability to perform under pressure from the offensive line, which has shown inconsistency. Last season, Maye was sacked 21 times during the playoffs, setting a record for the most sacks in a single postseason, previously held by Joe Burrow. Edelman emphasized that Maye must find ways to succeed even when the offensive line is not performing optimally. The Patriots have made efforts to bolster their offensive line this offseason, and Edelman believes that another year with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels will further aid Maye's development. He expressed the importance of Maye demonstrating resilience and adaptability in challenging situations, stating, “We need to see him when (expletive) hits the fan.”
