During a campaign rally in Bevinmatti village, Bagalkot district, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for engaging in what he termed 'politics of lies and double standards.' He alleged that BJP leaders lack integrity and credibility, asserting that their criticisms of Congress are unfounded and stem from fear of losing in upcoming elections. Siddaramaiah highlighted that under Congress leadership, Karnataka has achieved the highest per capita income in the country, contrasting this with what he described as the detrimental policies of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the central level, which he claims have exacerbated wealth inequality. He defended his administration's commitment to equal opportunities for all communities, including minorities, stating that their share of welfare funds is justified given their population percentage. Addressing comments from Union Minister V. Somanna regarding his political future, Siddaramaiah dismissed them as irrelevant, suggesting that Somanna's lack of real work in the Union government leads him to make such statements.
