Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the 15-year-old opening batter for the Rajasthan Royals, showcased his talent in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 by scoring 78 runs off just 26 balls against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. His explosive performance included eight boundaries and seven sixes, leading his team to chase down a target of 202 runs with ease. Sooryavanshi's impressive innings has earned him the Orange Cap, placing him at the top of the leaderboard with 200 runs in four matches, 17 runs ahead of his opening partner, Yashasv Jaiswal. During the post-match presentation, he attributed his success to focusing on the ball rather than the bowler, stating, “I just try to do what I do in practice, do the same, don't try anything extra.” Despite his remarkable performance, he expressed disappointment at missing out on a century after being caught by Virat Kohli off the bowling of Krunal Pandya. Sooryavanshi also acknowledged the support of his team manager, Romi Bhinder, who advises him to remain patient and focused on his long journey ahead in cricket.
