A tragic explosion occurred on Saturday morning at the Shree Saikrupa Gas agency in Demni village, near Silvassa, the headquarters of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, India. The blast happened around 9:30 am during the refilling of a nitrogen gas cylinder, resulting in the deaths of four individuals and leaving another four seriously injured. The force of the explosion was so intense that it blew off the roof of the gas godown and damaged nearby properties, including glass doors and windows. Local residents reported thick smoke enveloping the area following the incident. Emergency services, including the Silvassa fire department and local authorities, quickly arrived on the scene. The injured were transported to the Civil Hospital, where they were declared dead on arrival. DNH Collector Priyank Kishor confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway to ascertain the cause of the explosion, which involved a large tank used for refilling gas cylinders. The gas stored at the facility included nitrogen and oxygen, utilized in medical and industrial applications.
