Volpe, who has been a consistent presence at shortstop for the Yankees, expressed he is “probably the most excited I’ve ever been” to rejoin the team, highlighting his longing for the camaraderie with his teammates. Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman hopes Volpe will get around 55 at-bats in the minors before returning. Volpe, who won a Gold Glove in his rookie season of 2023, has played at least 153 games each season and aims to contribute significantly upon his return.
