A serious accident occurred on Sunday morning at around 8:30 am near the Bhaulpur tri-junction in Chhibramau, Uttar Pradesh, when a speeding truck carrying coal struck a scooter. The scooter's rider, 14-year-old Anshika from Durga Nagar, was hit from behind and dragged under the truck. The vehicle then crashed into a roadside shop, resulting in the death of Kanhaiya Lal, a 65-year-old fruit vendor who was present at the shop. Four others, including the truck driver Satendra (28) and helper Adarsh Pal, were injured and taken to the district hospital. District Magistrate Ashutosh Mohan Agnihotri and Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar visited the hospital to assess the situation. In response to the tragedy, an ex gratia payment of ₹5 lakh (roughly $6,000 USD) was announced for the families of the deceased. Local MLA Archana Pandey and Samajwadi Party leader Arvind Singh Yadav also offered financial support to the victims' families.
