The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has officially certified the horror-comedy film Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar, with a U/A (16+) rating. Following the certification on April 2, 2026, the film's runtime was initially set at 174.57 minutes but has since been reduced to 2 hours and 44 minutes after nearly 11 minutes were cut. These edits included minor modifications such as disclaimers regarding religious and superstitious content and the removal of certain objectionable words from dialogues and subtitles. Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan, reunites him with Akshay Kumar after their collaboration on the 2010 film Khatta Meetha. The film features a strong ensemble cast, including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, and Wamiqa Gabbi, and is scheduled for release in cinemas on April 16, 2026.
