The Don Wilhoit Selinsgrove Classic held at Selinsgrove High School saw remarkable performances with 15 meet records broken. Local athletes excelled, particularly Lake Dent and Isabella Furgison from Selinsgrove, who each won two individual events and set new meet records. Dent triumphed in the 800 meters with a time of 2:18.53 and in the long jump with a record leap of 16 feet, 9.75 inches, surpassing the previous record set in 2015. Furgison dominated the throwing events, breaking the shot put record with a throw of 48 feet, 7.75 inches, and winning the discus by a significant margin. Shikellamy's Jilly Deivert also made headlines, winning the 100 meters in a record time of 12.10 seconds and the 200 meters by a comfortable margin. The event highlighted the strength of local athletes, with Selinsgrove's girls winning seven individual events and Shikellamy's boys showcasing their prowess in the field events.
