In a significant reshuffle following directives from the Election Commission of India, A.T. Durai Kumar has been appointed as the Director in-charge of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (V&AC) in Tamil Nadu. This decision comes after the removal of Sandeep Mittal from the position of Director. The order was initially challenged by Sandeep Rai Rathore, the Tamil Nadu Head of Police Force and Director-General of Police, who directed Mittal to maintain his role until further notice. However, K. Manivasan, the newly appointed Additional Chief Secretary and Home Secretary of Tamil Nadu, reversed this order and confirmed Durai Kumar's appointment. This change reflects the ongoing efforts to streamline leadership in the state's anti-corruption efforts, with Kumar set to serve until a regular posting is finalized.
