Srinivas Acharya, a 62-year-old man from Koblukattu in Kodavoor ward, Udupi district, Karnataka, faced a life-threatening situation when he fell into a well while performing maintenance work. Stranded for three days, he clung to a pipe for support, calling for help without success. His rescue was initiated by Ganesh, a gas cylinder delivery agent, who could not complete his delivery due to the absence of an OTP. Concerned after failing to contact Srinivas, Ganesh mobilized local residents to search for him. Their efforts led to Srinivas's discovery inside the well, where he was found weak but alive. Emergency services were alerted, and he was rescued and taken to a hospital, where he received critical care and has since recovered. This incident illustrates how ordinary systems, like gas delivery protocols, can have life-saving implications in emergencies.
