The West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) has announced the indefinite postponement of interviews for candidates who qualified in the 2022 Primary Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). The written exam took place on December 11, 2022, with results released on February 10, 2023. Initially, district-wise interview schedules were set for candidates from various districts, including Purulia, Bankura, Malda, Paschim Bardhaman, and Birbhum. However, a notification on April 1 revealed that all scheduled interview dates would be deferred due to the ongoing election process. Board president Goutam Pal stated that the Election Commission has been informed about the situation, and revised dates will be communicated later. The original interview dates spanned from April 6 to early May, coinciding with the first phase of polling on April 23. Candidates have expressed frustration over the delays, highlighting the impact of the postponement on their preparations for the interviews.
