The tragic boat accident in Vrindavan, located in Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh, India, has resulted in a rising death toll of 11 as of Saturday, following the recovery of another body identified as Manik Tandon. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon when a boat carrying 38 tourists, mostly from Ludhiana, Punjab, capsized in the Yamuna River near Kesi Ghat. Rescue operations commenced shortly after the incident around 3 pm and continued into the early hours of Saturday. By 2:30 am, the capsized boat was located on the riverbed. Search efforts resumed at 5 am on Saturday, focusing on the five individuals still missing. Among the deceased, six are women and five are men, with the victims primarily from Jagraon in Ludhiana district. Authorities reported that 22 passengers were rescued, with eight requiring hospitalization, all of whom are now stable. The administration has mobilized multiple rescue teams, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), to aid in the ongoing search for the missing.
