Max Healthcare Institute Limited (MHIL) has announced the acquisition of a 58.4% controlling stake in Kalinga Hospital, located in Maitri Vihar, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, for an equity value of ₹300 crore (approximately $36 million USD). The 250-bed hospital is well-accredited and spans 2.60 lakh square feet, offering comprehensive care in specialties such as neurology, cardiology, and oncology. This strategic move is aimed at expanding Max Healthcare's footprint in Eastern India, a region recognized for its developed healthcare ecosystem. Abhay Soi, chairman and managing director of Max Healthcare, expressed optimism about entering Bhubaneswar, highlighting the hospital's operational potential. Max Healthcare operates a total of 20 healthcare facilities across India and has reported a 26.01% increase in consolidated net profit to ₹300.92 crore for Q3 FY26 compared to the same quarter last year.
