The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has formally written to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to enhance cricket ties following a controversy involving pacer Mustafizur Rahman. Earlier this year, Rahman was released by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) due to a directive from the BCCI, which sparked outrage in Bangladesh amid rising political tensions. This situation escalated to the point where Bangladesh refused to participate in the T20 World Cup 2026, resulting in Scotland taking their place in Group C. In an effort to mend relations, BCB's Director of Cricket Operations, Nazmul Abedin Fahim, confirmed the communication with BCCI, emphasizing the importance of regular dialogue between cricket boards. The letter also highlighted the upcoming series where the Indian national team is expected to visit Bangladesh for three ODIs and three T20Is from September 1 to September 12. Fahim expressed hope for further collaboration between the two nations in cricket, despite the uncertain political backdrop.
