The United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala has pushed back against the Left Democratic Front (LDF)'s accusations regarding the management of funds collected by the Congress for housing families displaced by landslides in Wayanad. Leader of the Opposition, V D Satheesan, stated that an audit of these funds will be made public after the project's completion, despite questions about their current status. The LDF, led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, has intensified its campaign by highlighting the alleged misappropriation of funds, claiming that the Congress has not provided adequate transparency. This controversy has become a significant issue in the ongoing elections, particularly in northern Kerala, where the LDF has emphasized its achievements, including the construction of 178 houses for displaced families. The UDF has countered by challenging the CPI(M) to explain its own handling of funds related to party martyrs. The political back-and-forth continues as both parties vie for voter support.
